Privacy and Security Settings:

Keep all your social networking profiles like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram etc. set to private. Your personal information such as your (full name, date of birth, phone number, posts and pictures, etc.) is public, if you do not choose the private and security settings. Read your social network site rules and policies.

Once posted, always posted:

Please be careful of what information you post online. Please remember that EVERYTHING YOU POST on the Internet is there forever. Your on-line reputation could be a stake.  Recent research found that job recruiters respond to a strong positive postings online. So show your smarts, thoughtfulness, and skill sets.

Know and Manage Your Friends:

People you know and trust should be members of your personal profile all others should fall in one of the categories that your social network provides.

Know what action to take: 

If someone is harassing or threatening you, remove them from your friends list, block them, and report them to the site administrator.
